Dr. Hambali Idris Umar Appointed as Postdoctoral Fellow at FIRAT
Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Hambali Idris Umar as a Postdoctoral Fellow.
Dr. Hambali holds a doctorate in Public Health and Epidemiology, a Master’s degree in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, he has a degree in Law and is a graduate of the Nigerian Institute of Management.
Dr. Hambali has actively engaged with the Federal Ministries of Agriculture, Health, and Environment under the Global Health Security Agenda contributing to the development and execution of ONE HEALTH policies, and national and international planning. He is also a fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Practitioners.
His career spans assessments and analyses of health-related sectors, demonstrating exceptional proficiency in report writing and technical communication. Dr. Hambali is multilingual, proficient in English, Arabic, Shuwa Arab, Hausa, and Yoruba, reflecting his commitment to effective communication and collaboration.
During his postdoctoral fellowship at FIRAT-Rwanda, Dr. Hambali will focus on original research contributing to Africa’s development, primarily emphasizing zoonotic diseases and the One Health approach.
His responsibilities include publishing research findings in reputable journals, expanding research networks through collaborations, and nurturing well-rounded scholars through teaching experiences. Dr. Hambali will actively participate in the “Imagining Africa’s Future” initiative, addressing challenges in One Health, Zoonoses, and public health.
