Mr. Mansur Usman, a PhD student from Bayero University, Kano Nigeria, is on a research visit to the FIRAT Rwanda office for a period of 3 months from December 2023 to February 2024.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Microbiology and holds a Master of Science in Medical Microbiology, obtained in 2014, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology obtained in 2006. His academic journey also includes completing his secondary education at Government Science Secondary School, Gusau in 2001 and his primary education at Aliyu Jedo Model Primary School, Binji in 1995.

With a wealth of experience, Mr. Usman has been a Lecturer at the Federal University, Gusau since September 2019, where he conducts lectures, supervises project students, conducts research, mentors students, and oversees student examinations. Before this, he served as a Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Gusau from 2010 to 2018, where he conducted lectures and practical sessions for nursing and midwifery students and supervised examinations.

His professional experience also includes serving as a National Trainer on Access SMC from 2015 to 2017, where he was involved in various consultations and meetings aimed at malaria elimination programs. He participated in state macroplanning meetings, LGA microplanning meetings, training of trainers sessions, step-down training at LGA levels, SMC meetings, and distribution of SMC drugs and data tools.

Additionally, Mr. Usman has experience as a Zonal Sales Representative at Labstock Nig. Ltd in 2010, where he marketed and sold scientific instruments, laboratory equipment, and analytical testing products, while also providing training services. He also worked as an NYSC Biology Teacher in Edo State in 2007, where he conducted biology practical sessions, taught biology, and mentored students.

In terms of publications, Mr. Usman has contributed to research in the field of microbiology with several articles published in reputable journals. His hobbies include importing knowledge and engaging in activities such as playing and watching football.
