Dr. Akin Fagbemi Joins FIRAT's Rwanda Office

Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Akin Fagbemi, the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), as a Visiting Senior Research Scientist at its Rwanda Country Office.

About Dr. Fagbemi

Dr. Fagbemi brings nearly two decades of experience as a Regulatory Scientist with NAFDAC. His research interests include:

• Food safety
• Metagenomic analysis

He has been recognized as a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Visiting Senior Research Scientist at FIRAT, Dr. Fagbemi will:

• Engage in impactful research and translate findings into productive outcomes
• Lead or participate in grant-supported studies
• Work with teams on the ground creating new knowledge
• Contribute to publications in reputable journals
• Engage in translation of knowledge into innovative products and services
• Volunteer in Higher Education Institutions across Nigeria, Rwanda, or other African countries
