Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT) is pleased to announce the appointment of Akin Fagbemi, the Executive Chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA), as a Visiting Senior Research Scientist at its Rwanda Country Office. Dr. Fagbemi, a former Regulatory Scientist with NAFDAC for almost two decades, has research interests in Food safety and Metagenomic analysis and has been recognized as a Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Food Science and Technology.
As a Visiting Senior Research Scientist at FIRAT, Dr. Fagbemi will have the unique opportunity to engage in impactful research and translate his findings into productive outcomes that can transform lives, create solutions, and generate jobs and wealth. The benefits of this position include continuous engagement in research, the opportunity to lead or participate in grant-supported studies, creating new jobs, working with teams on the ground, and contributing to new knowledge generation that would be disseminated or published in reputable journals.
In addition, Dr. Fagbemi will be expected to engage in the translation of knowledge into innovative products, goods, and services that can create jobs and wealth through FIRAT. He may also be requested to volunteer in Higher Education Institutions in any part of Nigeria, Rwanda, or other African countries, engaging in research, training, and other capacity-building efforts.
