The Republic of Djibouti officially signed the Artemis Accords today at NASA Headquarters, becoming the 72nd country to join the international coalition committed to peaceful space exploration.
NASA Deputy Administrator Matt Anderson hosted Ambassador Mohamed Siad Douale of Djibouti for the signing ceremony, joined by U.S. State Department Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Frank Garcia.

The Artemis Accords, established in 2020, set forth practical principles for civil space cooperation on the Moon, Mars, and beyond. Signatories commit to peaceful purposes, transparency, interoperability, and the preservation of outer space heritage.
Djibouti's participation marks an important expansion of the program's reach into the Horn of Africa, aligning the nation with international partners dedicated to sustainable exploration of space.
