Welcome to the FIRAT Research Cloud Scientists (RCS) Programme, an innovative initiative by the Foresight Institute of Research and Translation (FIRAT). Our mission is to revolutionize collaborative research in Africa by connecting scientists across the continent on a common platform.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and mentorship, we aim to address pressing challenges facing African communities and drive positive change.
Programme Objectives
The FIRAT RCS Programme is designed to:
- Create a Collaborative Platform: Bring scientists from Rwanda, Nigeria, and other African countries together to collaborate on research projects
- Facilitate Grant Proposal Development: Support scientists in preparing proposals targeting research funding opportunities
- Foster Research Excellence: Enhance the quality and impact of research outcomes through collaboration
- Build Capacity through Mentorship: Provide training and networking opportunities for scientists at all career stages
Membership Categories
Category 1 - Sterling Silver Research Cloud Scientists
- Description: Researchers at the beginning of their research journey
- Criteria: Demonstrated interest in research, willingness to learn and develop research skills
Category 2 - Rhodium Research Cloud Scientists
- Description: Researchers at the early stages of their research careers
- Criteria: Basic research experience or coursework, demonstrated commitment to research
Category 3 - Diamond Research Cloud Scientists
- Description: Researchers with a solid foundation in research
- Criteria: Significant research experience or PhD completion, clear interest in advanced research
Category 4 - Gold Research Cloud Scientists
- Description: Established researchers with notable achievements
- Criteria: Extensive research experience and publications, leadership in research projects
Category 5 - Platinum Research Cloud Scientists
- Description: Seasoned researchers with distinguished accomplishments
