Overview
The Girl Child in Science initiative is a dedicated program of FIRAT Rwanda that aims to bridge the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by actively promoting the participation, retention, and success of girls and young women in scientific fields. We believe that empowering girls in science is not just about equity — it’s about unlocking Africa’s full potential for innovation, leadership, and sustainable development.
This initiative fosters safe spaces, mentorship, visibility, and resources for girls to explore science confidently and pursue it passionately — from early education to professional careers.
